DelVecchio’s Pizzeria & Italian Restaurant is the official pizza of the Florida Panthers hockey team and the BB&T Center, event arena where the Panthers play. During game intermissions, the DelVecchio’s blimp flies over patrons reminding them to buy DelVecchio’s New York style pizza sold inside the arena.
Blimps are helium filled aircrafts that were first used for military purposes. Over time, and with advancements in modern aircraft technology, blimps became obsolete as military airships. Their use was then shifted for advertising purposes and we use it to promote DelVecchio’s New York style pizza.
DelVecchio’s Pizzeria & Italian Restaurant flies a 15ft blimp during the intermissions over hockey fans that look on in awe. The blimp is wrapped in the DelVecchio’s logo and flies during the two 20 minute intermissions reminding hockey fans to buy DelVecchio’s New York style pizza, the Best New York style pizza in South Florida, sold inside the BB&T.
Along with the blimp, DelVecchio’s New York style pizza has advertising plastered all over the BB&T and the logo on the dasher board right where the visiting team sits. DelVecchio’s also has an ongoing special for visitors of the BB&T called Everyone’s a winner, where with the ticket stub you can get a free Large Cheese Pizza with the purchase of any other Large Pizza.
